Iotatel has been working closely with FPInnovations and a coastal timber company since July 2017 to map cellular coverage along Vancouver Island resource roads while also assessing the performance of cell signal boosting technology. The results of this project will help with future road and cutblock planning and increase safety for the public who use the land for recreational purposes. Also, this base map will help determine the best approach for improving forest operation connectivity in the region.

Iotatel uses a unique method to collect the cellular data allowing large areas to be covered at an efficient rate. The data is then processed to produce extremely high resolution maps.
