Forest WiFi
The Forest WiFi project began in 2016 as an FPInnovations Discovery Challenge to extend Internet connectivity into remote areas of British Columbia to increase safety, improve security, and optimize production within forest operations. The first stage of the project concluded with a field trial that involved cellular gateways, tree-mounted antennas, off-grid power sources, and non-line-of sight microwave radios.

Iotatel continues to work closely with FPInnovations and a large coast timber company to develop methods, systems, and technologies to improve remote connectivity on Vancouver Island and across BC.
